Mexico-The Yucatan

If you want to start to explore latin america but don't want to go too far or get too much culture shock, Mexico is perfect. Cancun itself has so many companies, buildings and people from the USA that it's practically an extension of Miami. Go anywhere a few hours north (Holbox) or south((Tulum) of Cancun, and you are in more pristine paradise typed places. I recommend you go to at least one Cenote (water caves), but do the research as there are many, at various distances and prices and levels of tourism.. sometimes it pays to get a day trip here or there that includes lunch and transport.. but generally I try to find those less frequented little sites that the locals enjoy too. Scuba in Cancun was not bad either. In the winter, expect lower vis and rougher currents, but still good. The ADO buses are very convenient and organized compared to the cheaper local van-buses so it may be worth the extra $10 depending on how far you are going.. You can take a bus right into Belize too, and you should. I took the boat from Chetumal, since I wasn't interested in the mainland, but depends on your budget and timeline I guess. TOP TEN THINGS to miss about Mexico 1.$10 bottles of tequilla (dos caballos, yum!) 2.Waiting for the rain/wind to settle down so i can scuba already! 3.The loose parameters used to divide road "lanes" 4.Busloads of sunburned drunken americans 5.merhcnats boarding buses to sell food, smokes, candy, songs or drinks 6.Getting hot sauce with every meal, no question 7.Clamato juice and beer premixed in a can 8.Shark-infested beaches- paradise! 9.Cheap and amazing pineapples and avocados 10.Those freakin Mayans

Galapagos Island - Jatun sacha Conservation

October 2013. This time around, I decided to travel 'with purpose' and signed up for a 4 week volunteer position with and organization called Jatun Sacha, on the Galapagos islands. check out details at: jatunsacha.org I worked on various projects, mostly planting, removing invasive species and generally maintaining the site. Volunteers also rotated as kitchen helpers and so we had all our meals together and spent the whole day as a group working, travelling in packed trucks to various sites and trying to entertain ourselves with no internet or TV. Many card games were played. San Cristobal is one of the less developed of the bigger islands, and the banks were not always convenient or even operational, so if you go, I would recommend you bring lots of cash. Ecuador uses American dollars. I would recommend this type of Eco-tourism internship but perhaps it's better in more remote places, where the inflation and tourism aren't as intense. TOP TEN THINGS to miss about Ecuador 1.Serious about napping! 2.impromptu beach soccer 3.The motorbike being used as the family minivan and/or cargo truck 4.Machetes as the catch-all tool for hammering, lawn cutting, trail brazing,or any number of other tasks 5.Buses with flexible stops for pickup/drop-off that give you change 6.Being 5 minutes late, and still waiting around 15 more 7.the many uses of the car horn 8.Ordering Fish and getting Chicken, pretty sure after 2pm there just isnt anymore fish. It's land-fish! 9.Gaining/loosing clothing with each trip to the laundry mat 10.When asking for the time, people looking up at the sun & providing their best estimate

Vancouver foodie recomendations

Looking for a good place to grab some grub in Vancouver outside downtown?
For fairly priced eats around Vancouver that I have come to love,
Read bellow about a few spots I've come upon over the years...

BONS OFF BROADWAY - 2451 Nanaimo Street Vancouver, BC
Standard greasy spoon breakfast special spot. I prefer to go to this spot with Bons veterans. Only order the breakfast, and possibly beer depending on the situation. Vegetarians who eat eggs can add mushrooms and/or garlic and onions to the hash browns as I do.. you can also add fried tomatoes instead of eggs or just extra hash.. Great for hangovers but beware it is a get on the list line-up Saturdays and Sundays. 2.95$ man, So cheap!!!

HEIDI’S CAFÉ - 5945 Fraser street (44th Ave) Vancouver, BC
Cute little spot to hide out; Wifi, coffee, and good food. Whatever I order is always good and the staff are friendly. Not as cheap as Bon’s but they serve a good breakfast or coffee break snack. This café is new on the block but seems to be getting a good customer base already. If you are in the area, definitely check it out.

ALL INDIAN SWEETS - 6507 Main Street Vancouver, BC
Excellent all-you-can-eat buffet for 9$ anytime. I would suggest you go on the weekend or any busy time when they tend to have the Malai Kofta and Paneer dishes, may favorites! But they only seem to serve those during the busy times.. otherwise a great spot to grab take-out if you don’t wanna hang around and take in the great Bollywood movies constantly playing. Delicious!

BUDGIES BURRITOS - 44 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC
Everything they make is good, but my poison of choice is always the Burrito and I get it to go. Any of the burritos are scrumptious and awesome at any sauce heat. Lots of options, I generally go for the poser: Veggie ground round, veggies, sour cream, cheese and salsa wrapped in wholewheat tortilla and gift-wrapped in shiny tinfoil for you to bring with you, unless you want to eat in the odd setup of the interior, self-serve water and basket style.. But I love to leave with that silver football, YUM!!! Another vegetarian spot that meatosauruses will enjoy too.

NAAN - 2724 West 4th Avenue Vancouver, BC
Awesome spot on the west side open 24/7!! All vegetarian and everything is delicious. I love the house salad, its full of carrot and beet and sprouts, great. The Asian dishes are great and the veggie burger is amazing, made with in-house fresh patties, love it! This place is not my cheapest spot but is a great healthy choice after a day at the beach! If I could eat there for every meal for the rest of my life, I would die happy! Staunch carnivores attest that it is delicious, I swear!

Goodbye and good riddens Gordie!

How glad was I to see Gordon Campbell’s mug all over the newspapers
first and second page news; retiring? Is this going to be a lengthy exhausting
political scheme to continue to silently reign over BC without any complaints
while the R word floats around and the Liberal party can get their decide
how to prolong the time between this whole HST business and the next election.
Will this be eerily familiar to Ralph Kline’s grasp on our Albertan neighbours?
Sham is the only word to describe the whole thing. Why and how did this knobb
get re-elected? He raised tuition at a drastically exponential rate, sold BC ferries
to a private company, went along with military expansion and the Harper agenda,
cutting income taxes but leaving the minimum wage at the lowest in Canada,
instating some of the most costly and lengthy processes to get and keep drivers
licences and promote safe driving while getting wasted and driving home in the US
and yet somehow that did not even have a corner sidebar on the front page of
BC papers, yet now he has made a final move to ensure his 10 000 000$ pension.
Bravo another douchbag can go on a long holiday and feel good about himself while
his former constituents wonder how it all went so wrong. I don’t understand the
appeal. Being mad about overspending of the NDP doesn’t mean the whole province
is going to punish themselves by voting in yet another Liberal, urg! There’s so much
more to say but I will just leave it at that for now. Am I the only one appalled when
looking back at this province’s political history?
I think Gordon Campbell just loves hearing and seeing things about Gordon Campbell.
He's not going anywhere. At least not for long. Hmm.. ciao!

White nationalism-anonymous author from youtube

A MESSAGE IN RESPONSE TO THIS VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSI-lf5PXHU
I have attached my reply below this letter from an anonymous white nationalist.

Hello. I'm a White nationalist from Britain. I watched your video, I think it was about Prussian Blue, right? I don't really like the idea of their mother forcing them to promote pro-White music. However, I don't think it is wrong for a parent to raise their child to be pro-White. The schools promote a multiracial agenda, and also make children feel guilty of being White. If they are allowed to promote an anti-White agenda, I personally believe WN parents should be allowed to raise their children with a pro-White agenda.
I'm not a hateful person at all. I think it's wrong for parents to teach their children to hate other races. In the future when I can hopefully get married and have children, I shall raise my children to love their own race and be proud of their heritage. I will not teach them to hate other races, just to stick with their own people.

About your comments on Mexicans and the United States. The lands that used to be Mexico in the southern parts of the United States were won over by Americans, and it is therefore their land. As for the American Indians. I have great sympathy for them. I saulte them for fighting for their race.

However, I believe the United States is a White country. I mean, the whole idea of America was about White conquerors building a nation for Whites. They never went over there hoping to live in peace with the American Indians. In fact, the Red Indian tribes never considered themselves American, and in fact, I don't think they should.

Americans were the enemies of the Red Indian people, as it was the Americans who took the lands that they had and built the country. If you study the laws of US history, you'll find that non-whites were not regarded as equal citizens, it was therefore founded a White nation, and built a White nation. Up until 1965, the US had a White only immigration policy which says a lot about it being accepted as a White country even till that period.

You can say that the US was built on stealing land, but personally, I don't think it's fair to say that White people should be reduced to a minority in the US simply because of their ancestors who were conquerors. Do you know that in ancient times, northern China was home to a group of White people who were known as the Tocharians?

I don't think that people can say nowadays that northern China should be given back to the White European people because the Tocharians lived there 3,000 years ago. I believe Native American people should preserve their heritage and identity, that's why I think reservations are good in one way, but sad in another. I think the American people, and yes I mean White Americans should remain the majority in the United States, and the Mexicans and other non-white immigrants who are not loyal should be deported.

Europe is being invaded by Third World immigrants, and the European birthrate is very low while the non-white birthrate is high. We will become minorities in our European homeland, as well as in the nations that our ancestors built overseas in North America, Australia, New Zealand, and so on.

Please watch the documentary which I have attached below about the first non-white immigration into England. The indigenous population never wanted it, and therefore why should we accept it? It's silly to wait til we are minorites when it is too late. If the American Indians have a choice, I bet you they would turn the clock back and hope to join forces with all tribes to keep the White invaders out!

Documentary about the first masses of non-white immigration into England.

MY REPLY:
Hello. I believe in the freedom to live where you choose to live. I read your message about my video about Prussian Blue. I don't think it is wrong for a parent to raise their child to be proud of being white and schools promote all races. Children should not feel guilty for being white, especially in the UK.

I also think it's wrong for parents to teach their children to hate other races. I don’t fell that any race needs to stick with their own people exclusively. It’s odd that you think Mexicans have no right the land that was taken and that the American Indians have no right their land that was taken. Do mixed Mexican-American and Métis or whatever Americans call the mixed race American Indians?

Americans were not always the enemies of the Red Indian people, they worked together too. Yes I’, aware that non-whites were not regarded as equal citizens, that was during a time of slavery and the colonizing ‘Americans’ were not too concerned about bringing over boat loads of African slaves to the country either. White only immigration policies are outdated. Northern China and the Tocharians 3,000 years ago is little bit of an extreme example to compare to America, that was only colonized by white Europeans in the last few hundred years.

I watched the documentary which you attached about non-white immigration into England. The British people should have fought against non-white immigration if they care so much. I think that perhaps your extreme view of White Nationalism is not shared by those who make the laws in Britain. I believe everyone should preserve their heritage. White Americans are not longer the majority in the United States, so maybe they should be deported to England and Europe. That might solve the diversity problem you see over there.

It’s also interesting that the invading the third World immigrants in England are the same ones that England was colonizing in Asia. Indians all speak English for a reason. That’s Karma I guess. Maybe Europeans need to increase their birthrate then. Well, go on and get started!

RANT

The road to mediocrity is paved with procrastination.

After years of putting things off and dismissing half-baked ideas

I have found myself working the same jobs I had

while I was in university for 5 years. I have done some great

things in my life that I am proud of. I was able to travel

and finish a degree. I have worked in the airline industry for

a short time but in the end here I am again.

I have hopes to build my own business and put together

a company to promote travel and such, but I have done little

to accomplish it. Every time I stop getting a steady income,

all I can think is that I am a bum, I need a job and why am

I not employed? then once I get work I have no time it seems

to even get my groceries done. There is a fine line between

enjoying your life and working hard to achieve your goals.

I think I am falling behind that line by getting caught up with everyday

activities rather than looking at the big picture and sacrificing the

little time I have to get what I want and where I want to be in life.

It feels like my case is not unique. I wonder how to break the cycle

of drudging through each day in order to make that pay check to

pay the bills and getting stuck in the grind. The lie I tell myself is that

I will save enough so that I can take the time to do what needs to

be done, but the truth is each time I feel like I can break free

another road block or an easier way out seems to spring up out

of nowhere and then somehow I'm right back here. Is this cycle

of switching between the rat race and occasional mini-adventures

a normal and accepted part of North American life now or what?

I have no idea where to start with a business plan and any ideas

to do with specifics seems like rocket science. Then there's the

travel bug itching at my feet every time I see the dollars start to

add up. could be a trip to Thailand or Europe or south America

or Australia.. too many thoughts floating around and there

are obviously some that are easier to accomplish than others

and some with less risk and struggle. Life is funny that way.

University Results: Unemployment and Massive Dept

Over one year after I graduated I am currently unemployed with a massive student dept I will probably be paying off for the next 2-10 years. What a joke! The TESL certification I got in BC means nothing here as everyone wants the Ontario TESL certification. So I have been going from one crappy underpaid menial job to the next. Furthermore, past exes only take me further into personal dept by borrowing money they apparently never intended to give back. People are just so great sometimes.
