This Post is basically a shameless self-promotion: I had an idea that SFU should have a more entertaining audio-visual online media source. SFlive has jusr gotten started as new Youtube channel (www.youtube.com/SFlive) and can also be explored through the evils of facebook (www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6021644823).
This group is in very early stages, but basically, Wednesday Nov 28, 2007, I brought the idea to the SFSS's Forum meeting where it was very graciously and optimistically encouraged. New interest from SFU community members continues to grow. SFlive hopes to provide "an online audio/visual source of live and/or pre-recorded reports, interviews, documentaries, and PSAs (Public Service Announcements) relevant to SFU students" as stated in the group's first meeting, January 14th, 2008.
‘Going from thinking of the world to Talking about it!’
The first introductory video can be found at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad2mVsGpcC8
So go check it out, give it a 5 star rating!
What topics would you like to see reported on? Are you interested in joining the group? As this group is in no way funded by the SFSS currently, anyone can join! (Preferably someone in the SFU community, but given the nature of Youtube, anyone can reply) And hey, maybe the idea will catch on and other universities can start contributing to the dialogue via this great video media!!!
